The Cricket Legends of Barbados is a fascinating cricket museum filled with varied memorabilia. Virtual exhibits chart the achievements of Barbadian and West Indian Cricket Icons, alongside a range of items dating back to the early 1900s.

You will see the ball bowled by Wes Hall in the first-ever hat-trick by a West Indian, a bat autographed by the first West Indies team to tour England after the Region gained test status in 1928 and a blazer worn by England player, Trevor Bailey, in the West indies tour of 1953/1954. Located on the outskirts of Bridgetown, this cricket arena hosted the Cricket World Cup in 2007. Barbados is one of the international centres for cricket and plays host to regular test matches between the months of January and April, with teams drawn from the West Indies, England, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan and South Africa.

Kensington Oval is Barbados’ oldest cricket ground, having been established in 1882. Now, a statue of Sir Garfield Sobers, National Hero of Barbados and one of the world’s greatest cricketers, dominates the entry to the Oval.
